What if only artists who could sell their work painted?

What if only artists who could sell their works painted? What if only professional dancers danced? What if no one would sing unless you payed them?

If, as an artist, you assumed your work was worthless because no one bought it, how would anyone ever even begin to create? How about all the wonderful artists who have never sold anything?

Some things have innate worth. Worth from the action of doing them, worth because of their innate meaning.

(Thank you dear Nolly Posh for sharing this video.)

just watched the video and have wanted to see it, hope it comes to my little art theatre.
as to the last post. I think that it goes against the grain of creativity to pander to what people want to match their decor, or what is popular in the moment.

I think if it sells great, but the motivation that I have is to create for my own happiness, and if others like it then that is a bonus.

I listen to my representation but I still do what I want and experiment. I think it would be a slow death to be stuck in a box painting the same thing over and over just because it is what people want. I know artists who have painted themselves into a corner like this and it is so uncomfortable to watch them deal with it.
for me I found the way out of that was mixed media, and now people never know what to expect, they are continually surprised, and I am never bored... great post Zom!!!!

I am praying this movie will come somewhere close enough to travel to see this movie of possibilities. Soft beautiful energies flow from this woman's courageous story. Maybe Netflix will be able to get a copy you have Netflix in Australia? You can order a special film on dvd and play at your own convenience in your home. Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

I am home from the hospital but terribly tired...each day I make progress and the headache is beginning to diminish.
