The Painting of the Girl Continues

As I have posted the drawing, I thought I would show you how the painting is going. Here is my earlier post where I blog about beginning this piece. I don't know if you can see the difference, but I have made her face a bit fuller, her mouth smaller and her nose flatter. I wanted her to look more like the drawing.
I have lost a some of the contrast in this photo. I will try and take a better one further along.

Here it is at the earlier stage. Which do you prefer?
By the way, she isn't finished yet. I need to do more with her 'hair' and I also want to take her dress further.

Oh Zom, she is even more beautiful than before, even though I didn't think that was possible. Absolutely gorgeous!

amazing how these subtler differences make her look quite different, she looks softer in the newer one with the fuller face, maybe younger, too?
Beautiful painting, very captivating.

I'm not sure I can say I prefer one over the other, I like them both in their own way, the older one possibly because she is more woman than child? But then I really can't say, they are certainly both excellent each on their own so it's not a matter of the painting but how they speak to me as they are.

This painting has so much energy. Her figure is moving. Great work.

The altered piece (first photo) is definitely an improvement on the earlier shot. You've managed to make the changes you mentioned but retain her character, something that is often hard to do.

This is an excellent piece. Thanks so much for sharing.

I like the piece further along. Her eyes look a bit hooded in the first, but she's coming out sooo cool! Thanks for the process shots Zom!

The intensity in this painting is wonderful! I think the major difference between the before and after is that she looks nastier or more defiant in the first one, like she hates you and what you did to her. The after still has the intensity and some defiance, but it feels more like she's challenging you rather than loathing you.

She is turning into a beautiful girl. I do not know which one I prefer..If I had to choose the 1st one. I like them both..I see more softness in her features the 1st one.
I would put either one on my wall.

She is Beautiful and reminds me of a Tree Spirit... They have that fragile look about them but a certain look in their eye... (Ps) Your glasses look very pretty X:-)

Your observations are so interesting. It is like having you all in my studio!
I am glad most of you prefer the first picture, as I would have a difficult time going backwards. It was a bit risky to ask the question, haha.
